Your shifts stay on your phone.

Last updated: July 13, 2026

Xcept is a tool for delivery drivers, built by Pleroma Studio. It has no account, no sign-up, no analytics SDKs, and no ads. This policy explains exactly what stays on your device, the few things that leave it, and why.

The short version

Your shifts, routes, mileage, earnings, and settings live on your device and are never sent to us. Three features send the minimum they need to work — reading a screenshot, showing a map, and syncing an anonymous restaurant vote — and none of them require your identity.

What stays on your device

Because Xcept has no account system, the following never leave your phone and we cannot see them:

What leaves your device (and why)

Only three features send anything off your phone, and only when you use them.

FeatureWhat is sentWhere it goesRetention
Reading an offer screenshot A downscaled copy of the offer image. Text is first extracted on your device with Google ML Kit; the image is sent only to read pay, miles, and restaurant name. Our server, which forwards it to Anthropic (Claude) to read the numbers. Discarded immediately after reading. Never stored by us. Not used to train models.
Map & nearby-restaurant search Your approximate coordinates — the same request any map app makes. The map/places provider. Governed by the provider; we do not log or store your location.
Restaurant ratings ("Spots") A restaurant name and your up/down vote. No name, account, device ID, or location is attached. Our ratings service, so drivers can warn each other about slow spots. Stored anonymously as an aggregate vote count.
AI shift recap (optional) Your shift's numbers — only when you tap for a recap. Our server, which forwards it to Anthropic (Claude) to write the summary. Discarded after the summary is generated. Never stored by us.

Location

Xcept requests location permission for two reasons: to count your miles while a shift is running, and to show the in-app map and nearby restaurants. Mileage tracking happens on your device — the route and distance are never sent to us. The map and search send only your approximate coordinates to the map provider, as described above.

While a shift is active, Xcept runs a foreground service so mileage keeps counting when the app is in the background. Android shows a persistent notification whenever this is running. You are always in control: deny or revoke location permission at any time in Android Settings, and shift timing still works — only automatic mileage counting stops.

Screen & screenshot access

To read an offer the moment it appears, Xcept can capture the offer image either from a screenshot you share to it or via Android's screen-capture permission, which you grant explicitly. Capture is used only to read an offer's pay, miles, and restaurant. Images are processed as described in the table above and are never stored by us or used for any other purpose.

What we do not do

Service providers

Xcept relies on a small number of processors to deliver specific features: Anthropic (to read offer screenshots and write optional shift recaps; content is processed transiently and not used for training) and a map/places provider (for the in-app map and nearby search). These providers receive only the minimum described above and only when the relevant feature is used.

Payment

Xcept is a one-time purchase through Google Play. Your payment is handled by Google Play Billing — Xcept never sees or stores your card or payment details. Google's own privacy policy governs that transaction.

Children

Xcept is a tool for working delivery drivers and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your control & data deletion

Because everything meaningful is stored on your device, you delete your data by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling Xcept — that removes all shifts, routes, mileage, and settings. Anonymous restaurant votes carry no identifier, so they cannot be tied back to you or individually removed. To ask a question about your data, email us at the address below.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Xcept handles data, we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
